AI notes for Google Meet, without a bot in the call

Timo takes notes in Google Meet by recording the Meet tab's audio in your own browser, so no extra participant joins. When you stop, it writes a summary, the decisions, action items with owners, open questions and a transcript.

How to record a Meet call

In desktop Chrome, Edge or Arc, choose "Recording a call?" and share the meeting's tab with its audio. Timo then records both sides of the call along with your microphone.

Start Timo before or during the call. You can rename the meeting while it records, and pause or mute when you need to step away.

  • Open Timo at timonow.com/app and press Record.
  • Choose "Recording a call?", pick the Meet tab and keep "Also share tab audio" on.
  • Talk as usual. Stop when the call ends; notes arrive a minute or two later.

What you get after the call

A short summary you can read in a minute, the decisions that were made, action items with an owner and a date where one was said, the questions nobody answered and the full transcript.

Action items wait as suggestions. Add the ones you'll do, and Timo can place them on your Google Calendar inside your working hours.

If your calendar is connected

When a Meet call on your Google Calendar starts and nothing is recording, Timo can send one notification so you remember to start. It never records on its own.

Privacy

Nobody in the call sees a Timo participant, so tell the people you're with that you're taking notes, as you would anyway. Raw audio is deleted once the notes are written, and the notes stay private unless you share them.

Is Timo the right fit?

Timo fits when

  • You run Meet in desktop Chrome, Edge or Arc.
  • You'd rather not have a bot in the participant list.
  • You want the to-dos to end up on your calendar, not just in a document.

Look elsewhere when

  • You need a recorder that joins meetings you aren't attending.
  • Your company requires a notetaker approved and managed by IT.
  • You only use Safari or Firefox and need the other side's audio captured directly.

Questions

Does Timo join my Google Meet as a participant?

No. Timo records the Meet tab's audio in your own browser. Nobody else sees a bot in the call.

Which browsers can capture the other people in the call?

Desktop Chrome, Edge and Arc can share a tab's audio. Safari and Firefox can't share a tab's audio, so there Timo records through your microphone only.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Timo works on the web. A Chrome extension is also available on the Chrome Web Store.

What happens if I forget to stop?

After four minutes of silence Timo warns you, and after five it stops and writes the notes, so a forgotten recording doesn't run all day.
