AI notes for meetings in the same room

Getting good audio in a room
Microphones hear the person closest to them best. Put the laptop in the middle of the table, keep it away from fans and cups, and avoid covering it with papers.
- One device in the middle beats one at the end of the table.
- Timo keeps recording if you switch tabs, so you can take your own notes alongside.
- Pause for side conversations you don't want in the notes.
On a phone
Timo's iPhone app records in the room with the screen locked. It is a public beta on TestFlight, not yet on the App Store; the link is on the facts page.
After the meeting
You get the summary, decisions, action items with owners and dates, open questions and the transcript. Add the action items you'll do and Timo can find time for them on Google Calendar.
Is Timo the right fit?
Timo fits when
- Your important conversations happen face to face.
- You'd like to be present instead of typing.
- You want the follow-ups scheduled, not just written down.
Look elsewhere when
- The room is very large or noisy and you need a dedicated conference microphone system.
- Everyone needs to see a shared transcript live on a screen.

Questions
Do I need special hardware?
No. A laptop's built-in microphone works for a table of a few people. Larger rooms benefit from an external microphone.
Should I tell people I'm recording?
Yes. Tell the people in the room you're taking notes with Timo, and follow local law on recording.
Is the audio kept?
Raw audio is deleted once the notes are written.
