Three ways to capture a Zoom call
How you join Zoom decides how Timo hears it.
- Zoom in the browser: In desktop Chrome, Edge or Arc, choose "Recording a call?" and share the meeting's tab with its audio. Timo then records both sides of the call along with your microphone.
- The Zoom desktop app: Timo records through your microphone. Use your speakers rather than headphones so it hears the other side, and keep the laptop close.
- Already recorded: upload the audio file and Timo writes the notes from it.
What you get
A summary, the decisions, action items with owners and dates when they were said, open questions and the transcript. Accept the action items you'll do and Timo can schedule them on Google Calendar.
Before you record
Timo doesn't announce itself in the call. Let people know you're taking notes, and follow your organisation's rules and local law on recording.
Is Timo the right fit?
Timo fits when
- You join Zoom from a browser, or you're comfortable using speakers.
- You want notes and calendar-ready tasks from the same tool.
- You don't want a bot in the participant list.
Look elsewhere when
- You need the other side captured directly from the Zoom desktop app with headphones on.
- You need recordings of meetings you don't attend.
- You need Zoom's own cloud recording features.

Questions
Can Timo record the Zoom desktop app?
It records through your microphone, so it hears the other side only through your speakers. For direct capture of both sides, join from the browser in desktop Chrome, Edge or Arc.
Can I use a Zoom recording I already have?
Yes. Upload the audio file and Timo writes the notes. It accepts m4a, mp3, wav, ogg, webm, aac and mp4.
Will the other people see Timo?
No. Nothing joins the call. Tell them you're taking notes.
